Online Party Activities For Small Kids

While many people have not stopped their in-person partying or are just over the pandemic and all of the precautions that come with it, I know there must be some other moms like me who still aren’t comfortable risking the health of their small, unvaccinated children.

When my sons (twins) turned three years old in January 2022, I wanted to plan something virtual besides your typical livestream or Zoom party. Here are a few ideas that I came up with:

Build A Mailing List

Three years old is a great age to start building a mailing list for your child because there is lots of learning going on that is fun to share with others. This is encouragement to communicate with family, friends and your entire community about special things that are happening in your children’s lives and the milestones that they reach.

Interactive Games

While scouring the internet for customized, virtual games, I came across puzzel.org and found tons of games that anyone can build and use. I chose to make a crossword puzzle using words that my three-year-old’s have learned to say, and a jigsaw style puzzle using a picture of the boys.

What are games without prizes? I asked guests to send a screenshot of their completed puzzles to claim their e-gift. This was a fun way to get people engaged.

Message Board

Party guests were asked to post a sticky note on my sons’ birthday board with a message. Using Google Jam Board, I uploaded a photo of the Chicken Squad birthday theme to use as a background, and gave everyone access to edit on the day of their birthday.

Take a look at my sons’ 3rd birthday board.

My boys had a lot of fun listening to the Disney Jr. playlist that I curated for them and they enjoyed looking at their birthday webpage, games and all. This is an unforgettable “pandemic birthday” memory that we won’t forget!
