Backstory: Becoming a Single Mother by Choice (SMBC)
It all started with a will to live a meaningful life that my children can be proud of. Before I became a Realtor®, I made a big, bold decision: I became a single mother by choice. And now I’m bringing the same committed, courageous energy to my real estate business today and still creating life on my own terms.
My journey with real estate didn’t start with getting licensed. It started when I became a first-time homebuyer through my former employer’s Live Near Your Work program years ago before my mom era. That experience taught me how powerful and overwhelming the process can feel, especially when you’re young and trying to figure it all out on your own.
My real estate journey took another twist in 2021 when I sold my Baltimore city home and ultimately decided to build a new house with my family. I was deeply involved in the process from the initial house-hunting, submitting offers and making the decision to build, to finding the right community and the construction process. That experience shifted my mindset from just “buying a home” to building something that lasts, and it has shaped my legacy values and given me intergenerational wealth insight.
Today I am passionate about living intentionally and helping others do the same. I’ve always loved beautiful spaces and as a Realtor® I am focusing on wealth-building and helping people move into their best next chapter.
Real estate is the glow-up career I never thought would fit into my lifestyle, but as a SMBC it allows me to be present for my boys while helping other families transform their lives through home ownership.
