About Kia-Lillian

Born on December 7, 1983 in Takoma Park, Maryland, and raised in San Diego, California; West Lafayette, Indiana; and, Raleigh, North Carolina, Kia-Lillian “Kia” Hayes now resides in Baltimore, Maryland. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from North Carolina Central University in 2005 and a Master’s of Professional Studies in Public Relations & Corporate Communications Degree in 2010 from Georgetown University. At Georgetown, in her role as a Digital Fellow, she launched the social media platforms for the PRCC Continuing Studies program and began to develop a social media/public relations consulting practice.

Kia managed the Volunteer Services office at The Johns Hopkins Hospital for five years and returned to the communications field in 2019 as a Social Media Communications Assistant in the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Children & Family Success. She currently provides social media support for BlackDoctor.Org, I AM MENtality Youth Male Empowerment Project, and Hazelbrook Consulting LLC. Kia is dedicated to keeping up with best practices and trends in social media marketing, maximizing the use of digital tools, and providing excellent customer service.

Kia is the mother of two-year-old twin boys, Myles and Tyson, and is part of a #SingleMotherByChoice, “donor mom” community.
